Motorized, Motorized XL, PRO, PRO XL, and Manual Awnings
Measure the height of the wall where you want to install your awning. Minimum mounting height: 7 ft. 6 in. If minimum height is not available, contact your local SunSetter Dealer for other installation options.
Measure how wide an awning you want. Note: The actual fabric width is 4-1/2 in. less than the total awning width.
Make sure you have at least 8 in. of unobstructed vertical space where you want to mount the awning. Note: You will need 9 in. of space if installing our optional aluminum hood with your awning (all models except for the XL model). You will need 11 in. of space if installing our optional aluminum hood with an XL model awning.
Measure the height of the wall where you want to install your awning. Minimum mounting height for XT Models: 7 ft. Maximum mounting height for XT Models: 10 ft.
Measure how wide an awning you want. If you have side railings on your deck or patio, the awning supports must fit inside the railings. Note: The actual fabric width is 10 in. less than the total awning width.
Measure for the width of your EasyShade® EasyShades come in widths from 3 to 12 ft., in 6 in. increments. The total width is the width of the aluminum housing. Note: The actual fabric width is 3 in. less than the total housing width.
Make sure you have at least 3-1/4 in. of clear, unobstructed space horizontally along your wall where you can install the brackets that hold the EasyShade housing. The mounting brackets are universal and can be mounted on a wall or hung from a soffit or ceiling. Note: Manual EasyShades open with an included hand crank. Crank operation is always on the right hand side of the Manual EasyShade housing, as you face the house. Manual EasyShades can be unrolled up to 7 ft.
Solar and Motorized EasyShade Only. Make sure you have space down the sides of your installation area where you can attach the small brackets that hold the Solar-Powered EasyShade's stainless steel guiding cables. These brackets can be installed down a maximum of 7 ft., which is the maximum distance the shade will unroll.
Motorized EasyShade Only. Decide which end of your Motorized EasyShade you would like your power cord (the left or right end, as you face the house). You will need to make this selection when you order. Your electrical outlet should be an approved ground fault interrupter outlet designed for outdoor use.
